For All The Saints

This Sunday, November 3, we will celebrate as All Saints Sunday. On this day we call to our minds and hold in our hearts all those who have gone before us in the faith, and whose blessed memories continue to encourage us in our prayers and witness today.

It is customary on All Saints Sunday to remember in the Prayers of the People all the members of the parish who have died during the past year. In addition, we invite parishioners to name those from their own families and friends who have died, in the past year or earlier, so that the whole parish can join in remembrance and celebration of their lives.

If you would like to include a name or names to the Prayers on Sunday, please list them in the comments below. You may also simply speak their names when we pray for those who have died.

"Almighty God, you have knit together your elect in one communion and fellowship in the mystical body of your Son Christ our Lord: Give us grace so to follow your blessed saints in all virtuous and godly living, that we may come to those ineffable joys that you have prepared for those who truly love you; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen."
